Role description

Arcadis is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Madrid team. This role is ideal for an organized proactive individual who enjoys hands-on technical work and supporting operational excellence in environmental projects. You will play a key role in ensuring the proper management, maintenance and calibration of laboratory and field equipment as well as supporting the logistics of sample handling and warehouse organization.

Role accountabilities

The new team member will support a variety of laboratory and logistics tasks including but not limited to:

  • Equipment and Materials Management: Preparation, shipment and tracking of equipment and materials for field and laboratory use.
  • Purchase and stock control of supplies; cleaning, maintenance and calibration of equipment after fieldwork.
  • Ensuring documentation and procedures comply with accreditation standards.
  • Sample Logistics: Preparation and dispatch of samples to external laboratories ensuring proper handling and documentation.
  • Planning and Coordination: Monitoring the location and allocation of equipment to various projects ensuring operational needs are met efficiently.
  • Coordinating with project teams to anticipate and support equipment requirements.
  • Warehouse Management: Integral organization, maintenance and oversight of the warehouse.
  • Daily presence at the office/warehouse to support logistics and operational activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve processes, ensuring high standards of laboratory practice and operational control.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Knowledge of standard laboratory equipment and calibration processes; awareness of laboratory best practices and safety protocols.
  • User skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and similar tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and proactive attitude.
  • Effective team player with strong communication, problem-solving abilities and flexibility to work independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to team needs and willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Experience in warehouse management or handling technical equipment.
  • Valid drivers license.
