Schneider Electric seeks a senior Lab and Compliance assessment Manager to lead the Verification, Validation, and certification activities for our switches and sockets portfolio. You will run the V&V lab, drive operational excellence, and ensure compliance with international standards and certification bodies.

You will oversee audits, maintain quality systems, and steer continuous improvement in lab processes and testing capabilities, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support

Formación

  • Engineering degree and strong knowledge of electromechanical products (switches, sockets) and test methods.
  • Experience with IEC/EN product standards and certification processes (e.g., IEC 60669, IEC 60884, VDE, AENOR).
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems and test method validation.
  • Proven ability to lead large technical teams in a laboratory or engineering environment.
  • Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead the V&V lab team (20 FTE) and oversee testing campaigns including design validation, verification, and certification tests.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements (ISO/IEC 17025) and manage audits.
  • Drive lab process improvements, calibration, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Certification, Manufacturing, and Product Management to meet project milestones.

Role Purpose
  • The Lab and Compliance assessment Senior Manager leads the laboratory responsible for Verification, Validation, and certification activities for the company’s switches and sockets product portfolio.
  • The Lab Manager drives operational excellence, ensures technical competency, and supports product development teams by delivering high‑quality and on‑time test results.
  • The role ensures that all laboratory operations comply with internal quality standards, international regulations, and the requirements of certification bodies (VDE, AENOR, Fimko, Demko, Semko, etc…).
Scope & Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Leadership & Operations
  • Lead and develop the V&V lab team, including Product test Engineers & lab technicians (~20 FTE)
  • Plan, prioritize and supervise all testing campaigns: design validation, design verification, type tests, routine tests, surveillance tests, and certification tests.
  • Ensure full autonomy and compliance with VDE & AENOR Level 3 accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain and improve laboratory processes, workflows, and documentation.
  • Ensure all tests are executed according to relevant international standards (IEC/EN standards for switches & sockets), internal specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Guarantee laboratory compliance with accreditation quality systems (ISO/IEC 17025).
  • Own lab audits, internal and external, and drive corrective/preventive actions.
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance for all equipment and operations.
Technical Expertise & Test Excellence
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex or non‑standard testing activities.
  • Validate and approve test methods, test reports, and technical interpretations.
  • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and investment planning for lab equipment.
  • Drive continuous improvement, including automation, digital tools, and new test capabilities.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
  • Work closely with R&D design teams, Quality, Certification, Manufacturing, and Product Management to support project milestones.
  • Act as the main point of contact for certification bodies (VDE, AENOR), external laboratories, and partners.
  • Communicate clearly on test progress, risks, timelines, and results.
Strategy & Continuous Improvement
  • Define the lab roadmap aligned with R&D and business strategy.
  • Optimize lab performance through KPIs, resource allocation, and process improvement.
  • Introduce best practices in reliability engineering, accelerated testing, and predictive quality.
Required Competencies & Qualifications
Technical & Professional Skills
  • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical products, especially switches, sockets, and installation devices.
  • Solid expertise in laboratory testing: electrical & mechanical tests, environmental tests, safety testing, etc.
  • Experience with IEC/EN product standards and certification processes (e.g., IEC 60669, IEC 60884, VDE, AENOR).
  • Knowledge of quality systems (ISO/IEC 17025) and test method validation.
Leadership & Management Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large technical teams in a laboratory or engineering environment.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to drive change, foster continuous improvement, and develop team competencies.
