Mestrelab Research S.L., part of SciY, the software division of Bruker, seeks a Junior Software QA Engineer R&D in Spain to strengthen the SCiLS Lab development team. You will work within an agile software environment to identify risks to quality, stability, and performance of the data analysis and visualization software.

The role emphasizes automated and manual testing, test-process design, and collaboration with product management and developers.

Formación

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, or comparable knowledge and skills.
• Experience with software testing methodologies in agile development.
• Familiarity with GUI testing tools and programming languages (Python, R, C++).

Responsabilidades

• Identify and reduce quality, stability, and performance risks in SCiLS Lab.
• Design and implement automated and manual test processes for functional and non-functional tests.
• Contribute to design/specification of new features with focus on testability and non-functional requirements.
• Document and analyze software malfunctions to support robust software delivery.

At Mestrelab, as part of SciY, the software division of Bruker, we collaborate closely with the other SciY and Bruker companies, working together to achieve our goals. The Bruker Corporation companies are the world's leading manufacturers of analytical systems in life sciences. Our product SCiLS Lab is an internationally successful software for visualization and analysis of mass spectrometric imaging data.

About the Role

To strengthen the SCiLS Lab development team we are looking for a Junior Software QA Engineer R&D (m/f/d).

In our software development, we rely on current technologies and agile development processes, giving you room for independent and creative action.

We offer a diversified job in a small, interdisciplinary team with flat hierarchies and short decision processes. You will strengthen the leading position of the SCiLS Lab software, closely interacting with product management and the rest of the development team.

Responsibilities:

• As part of our software development team, you will focus on identifying and reducing risks to the quality, stability, and performance of the innovative data analysis and visualization software SCiLS Lab.
• You will be responsible for the specification and implementation of automated and manual test processes for both functional and non-functional tests.
• You will participate in the design and specification of new features, especially with regard to testability and non-functional requirements.
• You will systematically document and analyze software malfunctions and support the team in correcting them, helping to maintain our high standards of robustness, performance, stability, and code maintainability.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, or comparable knowledge and skills.

Required Skills:

• You have good knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes in the context of agile software development.
• You have experience with automated GUI testing tools such as Ranorex, Squish, or similar.
• You have knowledge in software development using Python, R, and/or C++.
• You are familiar with professional software development tools (e.g. version control system, issue tracking, build system, automated testing).
• You are characterized by high quality standards, as well as creativity, perseverance, and a structured, systematic working method.
• You enjoy familiarizing yourself with a complex system and have good analytical skills to understand the interrelationships and error patterns.
• You show a high level of social competence and enjoy actively contributing to your team.
• You have a good command of English, both oral and written.
