Job summary

Wiris, a Barcelona-based software company, is seeking a Junior Software Developer to contribute to MathType integrations and related services. You will build features, fix issues, and follow team workflows in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of software development experience (academic projects, internships, personal projects, or professional work).
• Strong fundamentals in programming, data structures, and OO/modular programming.
• Frontend basics: JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
• Backend basics: REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, PHP or Java.
• Git, IDEs, debugging tools, and clean-code practices.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot and ability to review generated code.
• Willingness to learn, good communication, collaborative mindset, and structured problem-solving.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Nice-to-have: Moodle architecture/plugins, Vue.js, third-party SDKs/integrations, Agile/Kanban.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features and integrations for MathType based on user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Fix bugs and investigate issues; expand stack with guidance from teammates.
• Apply software engineering fundamentals: clean code, modularity, readability.
• Write and maintain automated tests; adhere to Git, PRs, and CI/CD standards.
• Collaborate with Tech Lead, developers, and Product Trio in a Kanban setup.
