Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) in the Barcelona area is seeking a Junior Postdoctoral Researcher for the Blood Stem Cell Identity group. The role focuses on transcriptional and developmental mechanisms governing human HSC emergence, self-renewal and maturation in normal and leukemic contexts.

• PhD in Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Stem Cell Biology or related.
• Hands-on expertise in human hematopoietic and pluripotent stem cell culture.
• Experience in genetic engineering (CRISPR‑Cas9, reporter line generation and characterization).
• Experience with flow cytometry, FACS/MACS, immunofluorescence and confocal imaging.
• Experience with sample and library preparation for single‑cell transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics and/or ATAC‑seq.
• Solid molecular biology skills (RNA/DNA work, PCR, qPCR, sequencing).
• A background in hematopoiesis, stem cells, or tissue/cancer biology is desirable.
• Excellent spoken and written English; teamwork and collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Design and perform cell culture assays and directed differentiation of hematopoietic stem cell sources (cord blood/bone marrow).
• Differentiate and culture human pluripotent stem cells toward hematopoietic/endothelial fates; generate iHSCs.
• Generate and characterize CRISPR-edited pluripotent stem cell lines; track developmental transitions.
• Perform cell surface marker analysis and imaging of normal/leukemic cells and tissues.
• Prepare samples for single-cell RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, ATAC-seq and perform downstream analyses.
• In vivo assays of hematopoietic potential in mouse models.
• Coordinate with bioinformaticians; contribute to data interpretation and figures.
• Prepare manuscripts and presentations; guide junior members.
