Job summary

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) in Barcelona seeks a Junior Post-doctoral Researcher up to 3 years post-PhD to develop advanced human organoid platforms from hPSCs for disease modelling and drug screening.

Key tasks include engineering organoid microenvironments, scalable differentiation methods, and quantitative analyses. The role involves mentorship, project management, and reporting at international conferences.

Qualifications

• PhD in biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, biomedicine or similar field.
• Eligible candidates within 3 years of PhD defense.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering to define cell-to-cell and cell-to-ECM environments for organoid differentiation.
• Develop scalable organoid differentiation from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs).
• Develop assays to monitor molecular/metabolic changes and cell/tissue function in 2D/3D culture.
• Define SOPs and ensure reproducible workflows.
• Analyze datasets; publish findings; present at conferences.
