Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) seeks a Junior Research Engineer in Generative AI for biomedicine to advance synthetic data generation for digital pathology and biomedical imaging within the Life Sciences Department.

The role requires a Master in AI/CS/biomedical fields, strong ML and GenAI skills, and experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow, plus HPC exposure and English proficiency. The position offers a full-time contract at our Barcelona site with competitive salary.

Formación

• Solid understanding of machine learning, especially deep learning and generative models.
• Experience with Generative AI methods such as GANs, VAEs, or diffusion models.
• Familiarity with medical imaging and/or multi-omics data.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and apply generative models (e.g., GANs, diffusion models) to generate synthetic data, with emphasis on biomedical images.
• Explore synthetic data to enhance ML tasks such as patient stratification and disease subtyping.
• Design novel GenAI-driven data augmentation strategies and evaluate realism and utility using quantitative metrics.
• Collaborate with bioinformaticians, data scientists, and clinicians to align AI outputs with clinical relevance.
• Contribute to internal meetings and research dissemination.
