Fraunhofer Spain Research foundation in Catalonia seeks a Junior Research Engineer to advance AI-driven image processing for precision medicine. You will develop imaging biomarkers, radiomics pipelines, and integrate imaging with clinical data in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include handling multimodal imaging datasets, validating results, and communicating findings through reports and publications.

Formación

  • MSc in Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Medical Physics, Computer Science or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of medical imaging (PET, SPECT, CT, MRI).
  • Python programming (signal or medical imaging libraries).
  • Basic linux management.
  • Image visualization (3D Slicer or others).
  • Deep learning fundamentals.
  • Data management and statistics.
  • Scientific software development.
  • Experience working effectively in multidisciplinary and international research environments.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good level of spoken and written English.

The Fraunhofer Spain Research foundation is looking for a JUNIOR RESEARCH ENGINEER to support research and development activities at the Fraunhofer Center for Applied Theragnostics in Catalonia (Fraunhofer CAT). The candidate will contribute to the development of precision medicine algorithms and imaging biomarkers by AI-driven image processing and data analysis.

The contract will be within the framework of the Fraunhofer CAT projects, whose objective is the development of new diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic tools in the field of precision medicine. For example, the development of new technologies for i) the establishment of biomimetic organ and tissue models for in vitro testing, ii) the development of sensors and electronic devices, iii) the design and validation of therapeutic strategies for personalized medicine, and iv) the production and validation of new biological models and (v) Bioinformatics and data analysis.

Requirements for candidates
Essential

We Offer:

  • Starting date: as soon as possible
  • Working conditions: Full-time open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration. Presential.
  • Salary: €31.000 – €33.000.
