Haskoning is seeking a Junior Electrical BIM Engineer (MCF/Data Centres) to join our international Mission Critical Facilities team in Spain. You will translate electrical designs into data-rich BIM models and coordinate multidisciplinary design work with engineers and BIM coordinators.

You will work closely with project teams, using Revit, Revizto and related tools, while engaging with IEC/BS standards and LEED concepts.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field with internship/placement in consulting, building projects or data centres.
• Solid knowledge of BIM and Revit; BIM or Revit certification is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Forma, Dynamo, Rhino Inside Revit and related BIM tools.

• Integrate electrical designs into BIM models for coordinated builds.

What you do as a Junior Electrical BIM Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres)

As a Junior Electrical BIM Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the design and delivery of our Mission Critical Facilities projects, working closely with multidisciplinary project teams and under the guidance of the Lead Engineer and BIM Coordinator. Your responsibilities will include translating electrical engineering designs into accurate, data rich BIM models, ensuring the seamless integration and coordination of electrical services within the overall building design.

Responsibilities

You will help ensure that designs are coordinated, functional and constructible, minimizing the need for rework and supporting efficient project delivery. This role combines technical knowledge of electrical building services engineering with BIM modelling, automation and digital design skills, contributing to coordinated, practical and technically robust solutions that meet project objectives, client requirements and industry standards. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop block diagrams and single line diagrams, ensuring initial space reservations for electrical systems;
• Integrate functionality, installation considerations, maintenance requirements and accessibility into BIM models to support buildable designs without unnecessary revisions;
• Support electrical model coordination, clash detection and multidisciplinary design reviews using tools such as Revit and Revizto;
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary international team, including international travel where required, while maintaining regular communication with Project Engineers and the BIM Coordinator to ensure all work meets Haskoning and client standards;
• Contribute to optimizing internal processes, sharing knowledge within the team, and proposing or developing innovative BIM solutions.

Our global Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team provides a multidisciplinary package of consultancy services for our datacenter clients. We provide strategic, tactical, and operational advice to our clients, including colocation datacentres, internet service providers, and telecom companies. Our team consists of colleagues with all kinds of different expertise. For example, mechanical engineering, construction, civil, structure, building, architecture, fire safety, controls engineering, and security technology. Together we use our knowledge and expertise to develop integrated designs for Data Centres.

What you bring

Preferred

You are entrepreneurial, result oriented and proactive, with a positive, flexible and practical problem solving attitude. You communicate clearly with colleagues and clients and are fluent in English at minimum B2 level, because the role involves international project teams and client communication. Spanish is preferred, and Dutch and / or German would be a plus. Besides that, you have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, combined with relevant internship, thesis, placement or early work experience, preferably within consulting engineering, building projects, industrial projects or data centres, because you need both a solid technical foundation and an understanding of how electrical designs are developed in a project environment;
• Good knowledge of BIM and Revit, with BIM or Revit certification considered advantageous, because you will translate electrical designs into accurate models and coordinated project deliverables;
• Familiarity with Common Data Environments, Autodesk Forma and relevant BIM platforms, plus interest or experience with Dynamo, Python and Rhino Inside Revit, because these tools support efficient, data rich and coordinated digital design workflows;
• Strong basic knowledge of electrical building systems, including building services, load calculations, cable sizing and protection coordination, because the role requires you to support practical and technically sound electrical design work;
• Knowledge of international standards such as IEC and BS, sustainability and energy efficiency standards such as LEED, and interest or experience in Mission Critical Facilities concepts such as N+1 and 2N redundancy, because these are relevant to international and data centre projects.
