AIG in Madrid is seeking an experienced Underwriting Support professional to assist across Property, Casualty, Energy, Marine, Aviation, Financial Lines, and A&H classes, ensuring accurate risk data, record keeping and reporting.

You will work with underwriting teams and external partners, maintain audit trails, and contribute to data quality and training, while upholding AIG's commitment to inclusion and in-person collaboration.

Formación

  • Strong relevant experience of working in an underwriting support role.
  • Ability to deal with external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of underwriting, claims, and facultative reinsurance processes.
  • Experience of supervising the accuracy of an offshore service partner.

Responsabilidades

  • Summarize terms, calculate premiums and exposures, and ensure accurate entry of submissions, quotes, risks and transactions for reporting.
  • Perform data checks to ensure accuracy of underwriting data in systems.
  • Store all risk information and correspondence to maintain an audit trail.
  • Ensure underwriting information is prepared for peer review, risk entry, and data checks within timeframes.
  • Maintain tools with underwriting information to support compliance checks pre-bind and post-bind monitoring.
  • Assist underwriters in underwriting processes, management information, business development, and marketing.
  • Provide administrative support to underwriters and the Operations team (credit control, data quality, training).
  • When necessary, support underwriting teams in other classes of business.
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as defined with heads of units and managers.
  • All functions align with the target operating model, policies, and procedures.

Role Purpose

To primarily support the Underwriters across new or existing classes of business written by The Company, whilst working as a member of the Operations Underwriting Support team to deliver accurate risk, record keeping, and reporting. You will be primarily required to support teams such as Property, Casualty, Energy, Marine, Aviation, Financial Lines, and/or A&H.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To summarize slip terms and conditions, calculate premiums and exposures, and ensure complete accurate entry of submissions, quotes, risks, endorsements, and transactions to the Company so as to ensure correct management, statistical, and regulatory reporting.

  • Perform as required the necessary data checks to ensure accuracy of underwriting data ensuring they are accurately entered within our systems.

  • Store all risk information and correspondence onto the document repository to ensure a complete and accurate audit trail of all substantive business activity.

  • Ensure that all relevant underwriting information is included for the peer review, risk entry, and data checking review process within the designated timeframe. Underwriting information submitted electronically to be indexed and updated as appropriate within specified timeframes.

  • Maintain tools containing key underwriting information to facilitate compliance sanctions, fraud, and financial crime checks pre-bind and monitoring post-bind.

  • Assist underwriters during the underwriting process, production of management information, business development, and marketing.

  • Provide administrative support to underwriters and the Operations team in areas including credit control, data quality, and training.

  • When necessary, provide support to Underwriting teams within other classes of business.

  • Any other ad hoc tasks as defined and agreed with the Head of Business Centre, Underwriting Operations Team Leader, and the Underwriting Operations Manager.

  • All functions to be performed in accordance with the Company target operating model, policies, and specific procedure manuals, as amended from time to time.

Professional Experience:

  • Strong relevant experience of working in an underwriting support role

  • Ability to deal with external stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of underwriting, claims, and facultative reinsurance processes.

  • Experience of supervising the accuracy of an offshore service partner.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Language Skills: English (written and oral) and German required.

  • Good organisational skills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Logical, analytical, and resourceful.

  • Ability to follow through on tasks/projects.

  • Must be able to work alone but also contribute as part of a team.

  • Potential to lead teams; demonstrated experience preferred.
