SICPA in Madrid is seeking a Java Software Engineer to join our R&I team. You will develop and maintain backend libraries and services using Java 17 and Spring Boot 3 within a microservices architecture.

You will design and implement mission-critical Java applications for industrial automation and ensure integration with UI, hardware, and cloud servers. The role emphasizes modern testing, automated deployment, and Agile SCRUM practices.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong Java 17 experience.
• Experience with Spark, Hadoop, and Parquet.
• Proficient with Git.
• Experience with Docker.
• Familiar with Keycloak OAuth, gRPC, and Protobuf.

We are looking for a Java Software Engineer to join our R&I team.

ROLE:

• Develop and maintain backend libraries and services using Java +17 and Spring Boot 3 within a microservices architecture.
• Architect, design and implement generic mission-critical Java applications meant for industrial automation.
• Ensure optimal integration of other layers (UI, hardware devices, cloud server).
• Apply outstanding software engineering practices. Maintain high standards of design and code quality at all times.
• Apply state-of-the-art automated testing practices (unit, component, integration tests).
• Work on packaging and automated deployment of software.
• Contribute to product innovation ideas, prototypes, functional and design specifications in addition to production software.
• Apply agile methodologies throughout the development process: challenge and clarify requirements and ensure timely delivery of top-quality features.

PROFILE:

• Engineering Bachelor or Master´s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Knowledge of Patterns and Good Practices to design and develop quality andclean code.
• Experienced software engineer with a sound track record in Java +17.
• Experienced with Spark Jobs, Hadoop and Parquet technologies.
• Solid experience with Git version control.
• Proficient in software testing practices: unit testing, E2E testing, and automated test writing.
• Experience with functional or reactive programming.
• Experience with container technologies, like Docker.
• Experience with Keycloak Oauth.
• Skilled in relational databases, e.g., PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Familiar with the Linux environment, including shell scripting and software packaging.
• Experience with HTTP/2 and related technologies like gRPC and Protobuf a plus.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM.
• Team player in a multi-cultural working environment with ability to work independently.
