Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Madrid is seeking an IT/OT System Engineer to join our Operations Center of Excellence.

You will deploy and secure the next generation of control systems for HVDC projects and be a key resource in integrating and implementing features aligned with customer and market requirements. You will work with a global team on IT/OT system, network, and cybersecurity design, with emphasis on HMI, SCADA, and automation.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant technical area (Computer science, Automation or similar).
• Experience in HMI design and testing; Aveva, Micro SCADA or similar.
• Experience with SCADA, automation design/testing and IEC standards; scripting and automation tech.

Responsibilities

• Be part of IT/OT System team for system, network and cybersecurity design in HVDC projects, focusing on OT - HMI, SCADA, automation.
• Build complete infrastructure of networks and systems to support operations and ensure cybersecurity levels.
• Mentor junior associates and drive knowledge-sharing and improvement initiatives.
• Identify and capture opportunities for improvement in deployments and processes.

We are looking for IT/OT System Engineer to join Hitachi Energy in Spain! You will be part of a global team of talented engineers tasked with deploying and securing the next generation of control systems within HVDC. You will be responsible for integrating and implementing features aligning with customer- and market requirements. In this position you will serve as a key resource in the assigned area contributing to deployments of the MACH control platform in large HVDC project deliveries at Hitachi Energy. How You’ll Make An Impact

• Be part of a IT/OT System team for system, network, and cybersecurity design and implementations in HVDC projects, focus OT - HMI, SCADA, automation part.
• Building complete infrastructure of networks and systems to support operations and ensuring systems and networks contain defined levels of cybersecurity.
• Upon level of experience, mentoring junior associates and driving knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Upon level of experience, actively contributing to identifying and capturing opportunities for improvement.

Your background

• A university degree within a relevant technical area, preferably Computer science, Automation or other relevant education or experience.
• Experience in HMI (human machine interface) design and testing, Aveva platform, Micro Scada or similar.
• Experience in SCADA, automation design and testing, IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850 or similar along with scripting languages and automation technologies.
• Experience with databases and high-availability solutions, as well as network equipment as firewalls, switches, GPS clocks and redundant network designs and protocols.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English and comfortable in customer discussions.
• Experience with Microsoft client- and server operating systems, AD and any security relevant systems is meritorious.
