Ayesa Digital in Spain is seeking an IT Business Analyst – Data Architecture & Data Modelling to drive data architecture design and analytics across European EU projects. The role focuses on data modelling, governance, and collaboration with data teams to support complex business processes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in data analysis and strong SQL, with experience in enterprise data warehouses and BI environments. A hybrid project role with international teams awaits.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years of postsecondary professional experience and at least 3 years of higher education (degree or equivalent).
• At least 3 years as a Business Analyst in IT or digital environments.
• Strong requirements gathering, gap analysis, and functional specification experience.
• Hands-on enterprise data modelling including conceptual, logical, physical models.
• Proficiency with SQL and data analysis; experience with data warehouses and analytics platforms.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):

• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical feasibility.
• Conduct gap analysis to identify areas for process improvement and optimisation.
• Define functional specifications and translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
• Perform data analysis and contribute to data modelling activities to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (technical and business) throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Support the design of business processes and workflows using modelling techniques.
• Create diagrams, models and documentation using tools such as UML, BPMN or similar.
• Contribute to the standardisation and improvement of business analysis practices and methodologies.
• Ensure traceability of requirements and support validation and testing activities when needed.

Additional Responsibilities

• Analyse existing data models and identify opportunities for harmonisation and standardisation.
• Design target-state data models supporting reporting and analytics needs.
• Support the definition of enterprise data architecture and migration roadmaps.
• Collaborate with data architects, BI teams and data engineers.
• Document data flows, lineage, business rules and information architecture.
• Participate in data governance and data quality initiatives.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements):

• Minimum of 5 years of postsecondary professional experience and at least 3 years of higher education (degree or equivalent).
• At least 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT or digital environments.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, gap analysis, and functional specification definition.
• Strong hands‑on experience in enterprise data modelling, including conceptual, logical and physical models. Experience with Data Warehouse design, dimensional modelling, data mapping and data architecture documentation.
• Proficiency in diagramming and modelling tools (e.g. Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, UML, BPMN).
• Experience with wireframing tools such as Axure, Balsamiq or similar.
• Knowledge of business domains and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work in complex environments and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Mandatory Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise data analysis, data modelling or data architecture projects.
• Proven experience designing conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• Experience working with Enterprise Data Warehouses and analytical data platforms.
• Experience defining business entities, data domains, data dictionaries and business glossaries.
• Experience performing data mapping, data lineage and impact analysis.
• Experience supporting data migration, consolidation or transformation initiatives.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills.

Nice to Have / Strong Asset

• Knowledge of Kimball dimensional modelling methodology.
• Knowledge of Inmon Corporate Information Factory principles.
• Experience with Data Warehouse, Data Lake or Lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, Databricks or similar cloud data platforms.
• Knowledge of Delta Lake architecture.
• Experience with data governance, metadata management and Master Data Management (MDM).
• Experience in BI environments (Power BI, Tableau or similar).
