Vodafone Group Plc. is seeking an experienced Technical Packet Switched Designer (Mobile Core & IP) to support IoT initiatives. You will design, review and implement Mobile Core & IP solutions, create implementation designs, and roadmap the evolution of the IoT network over the next 3–5 years.

You will lead design efforts, mentor peers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while ensuring capacity planning and performance targets are met across 2G/3G/4G/LTE and 5G environments.

Formación

• University degree in telecommunication, electrical/electronic or similar.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCIE, JCNIE, etc.
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Mobile core packet switch platforms (SGSN/CSGN, MME, GGSN/PGW, NB-IoT).
• 5+ years’ experience with 2G/3G/4G/LTE mobile packet core nodes for operators or vendors.
• Deep understanding of call protocols, call flows and mobile network products.
• Good understanding of 5G technologies and Cloud.
• Ability to lead and manage virtual technology teams with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with 3GPP interfaces to DNS/RADIUS/PCRF/IMS.
• Lead projects involving solution design, first node integration and testing pre go live.
• Self-motivated, capable, and able to work unsupervised.
• Strong skills in network design documentation creation.
• Understanding of NFV infrastructure and MOPs.
• Knowledge of OSS/BSS tools for Fault and Performance management.
• Good IP networking skills including MPLS and BGP.
• Ability to troubleshoot, identify faults and root causes on packet switched platforms.
• Knowledge of Linux and scripting (Python, Perl).

Responsabilidades

• Understand, review and challenge HLD for Mobile Packet Core & IP networks and convert to LLD.
• Create detailed design docs with configuration matrix, security implications and guidelines.
• Develop Mobile Core network strategy and IoT roadmap for next 3–5 years.
• Be responsible for capacity management on the network.
• Make decisions affecting project scheduling, planning and deliverables.
• Mentor and share experiences with other team members.
• Provide timely problem analysis and update management, escalate when needed.
