Thales in Spain is offering a one-year full-time internship programme in Leganés, Madrid, designed to complement with a Nebrija University Master's degree in Productivity, Adaptive Management and Innovation. As part of the STATS Team, interns will work on DevSecOps practices, CI/CD, and cybersecurity within Azure DevOps, gaining hands-on experience across software development lifecycles.

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or Aeronautics related to software.
  • Interest in software engineering processes and a willingness to learn.

In Spain, Thales Sistemas is specialized in Command and Control systems, Tactical Communications and Modeling and Simulation addressing solutions in the domain of Defense and Security. Thales is the Spanish leader in tactical Land CIS (Communication and Information Systems) covering all the product life cycle (design, development, production, ILS). Based in Leganés, Thales Sistemas employs a highly specialized workforce of more than 100 people, most of them engineers that participate in the following activities:

  • Communications and Information Systems (CIS) to support Command function and Decision Making
  • Embedded electronics for military aircraft
  • Tactical Communications
  • Radio Navigation Aids for air traffic

As part of the STATS Team (software engineering team responsible for defining and applying DevSecOps, quality, and cybersecurity to the software development process), you will contribute to the automation and continuous improvement of the software development lifecycle on the Azure DevOps platform.

As a DevOps you will:

  • Learn about and contribute to the application of practices such as:
    • Continuous Integration (CI)
    • Continuous deployment (CD)
    • Analysis and metrics gathering for the creation of software control dashboards and performance monitoring
  • Collaborate on the company’s software projects in releasing versions by generating the final software deliverable to the client, as well as providing solutions to various challenges and issues that arise.
  • Be able to contribute to the deployment of cybersecurity applied to the secure software development lifecycle
Competences

Technical/functional skills:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or Aeronautics associated with software development
  • Interest in the software world, software engineering processes, and a desire to learn.
  • Intermediate to advanced English level (spoken and written).
Other (advantage)
  • Programming knowledge in any language.
  • Basic notions of DevOps, DevSecOps.
  • Basic cybersecurity concepts.
Behavioural skills
  • Teamwork ability and good communication skills.
  • Initiative to propose attractive and innovative ideas.
