A leading global company in Spain is seeking a Director of Legal to define and execute its legal and compliance strategy. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in tech environments, fluent Spanish and English, and a proven track record in M&A. This role allows for a hybrid or remote working model.

Formación

  • 10+ years PQE in tech/digital environments.
  • Proven M&A track record and corporate legal expertise.
  • Experience scaling legal in fast-growth environments.

Responsabilidades

  • Define and execute legal and compliance strategy.
  • Lead legal activities and scalable processes.
  • Manage governance and compliance monitoring.
  • Advise on consumer protection and e-commerce.
  • Oversee data protection and GDPR compliance.
  • Advise on corporate governance and structure.
  • Support brand protection and intellectual property.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks.

Responsibilites
  • Define and execute the group’s legal and compliance strategy aligned to business goals.

  • Lead all legal activities across jurisdictions; build scalable processes and controls.

  • Establish efficient contract management, governance, and compliance monitoring.

  • Consumer, commercial & product: Advice on consumer protection, e‑commerce, marketing, and digital contracting; Draft / review / negotiate commercial agreements (marketing partnerships, payment, vendors).

  • Data protection & privacy: Lead GDPR and global privacy compliance; privacy‑by‑design for digital products; Oversee data governance, DPA management, cross‑border transfers, and incident response.

  • Corporate, governance & M&A: Oversee corporate governance and entity management across multiple jurisdictions; Advise on group legal structure.

  • Intellectual property & brand: Software licensing and confidentiality; Support brand protection, disputes, and enforcement strategies.

  • Risk management, disputes & compliance: Identify and mitigate legal / compliance risks across operations; Design and roll out policies, training, and ethical standards.

  • Legal operating at director level with scalable frameworks; 10+ years PQE in tech / digital environments; Proven M&A track record (end‑to‑end) and corporate legal / structuring expertise.
  • Reports to a senior executive; Manages Legal and Compliance team.
  • Hybrid model or remote model.
Qualifications
  • Fluent Spanish and strong English.
  • Leadership of legal teams and managers; Strong communication and negotiation skills with commercial, pragmatic judgment.
  • Experience scaling legal in fast‑growth / scale‑ups.
  • Combination of top law firm training and in‑house leadership.

First director‑level legal role with mandate to build and elevate the function.
