Mida Maquinaria, established in 1993 in Vitoria and now part of LemuGroup, specializes in the design and development of digital finishing machines and high-quality premium label systems – including RFID technology.

POSITION OVERVIEW

LemuGroup is seeking for a Lead Software Engineer to join the Engineering Department at its Vitoria facility.

You will design, develop, and validate the software for our digital finishing and label insertion machines. Your role will span the entire software lifecycle — from concept and architecture design, through control software and HMI development, validation, and preparation of technical documentation and user manuals.

You will also play an active role in the design and continuous evolution of the software framework shared across the full range of machines developed at LemuGroup Vitoria.

Finally, you will support our Customer Service team, assisting with complex customer claims and using the knowledge gathered in the field to enhance and optimize future machine solutions.

This position requires a hands‑on, multidisciplinary mindset, curiosity for new technologies, and strong problem‑solving abilities. You must be focused, goal‑oriented, and comfortable working under tight deadlines.

EDUCATION

Degree in Industrial, Electronics, or Control & Automation Engineering

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience developing PLC/control software for machinery based on Codesys or TwinCAT (Beckhoff) platforms.
• Solid understanding of PLCopen motion control, CiA 402, and EtherCAT.
• Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 Structured Text.
• Experience in parameterization and tuning of servodrives (Control Techniques / Nidec, Beckhoff, Lenze, Omron…).
• Ability to lead complex software projects involving multidisciplinary teams.
• Availability to travel occasionally for system commissioning and testing.

VALUE EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge or experience in the converting and printing industry.
• Experience with object-oriented programming in Codesys/TwinCAT.
• Development and deployment of software frameworks.
• Understanding of UML and software architecture design.
• HMI design and development (TwinCAT, Codesys, JMobile, MchMobile).
• C++ and C# development in Visual Studio.
• Version control with Git.
• Writing of technical documentation and manuals.
• Knowledge of control theory and signal processing.
• Electrical schematic design with EPLAN.

LANGUAGES

• Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
• Other European languages are a plus.
