Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Field Production Engineer to lead daily oil and gas production operations in Mérida. You will monitor performance, manage equipment and apply artificial lift strategies to maximize recovery while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in field production, hands-on with ESPs, rod pumps, and gas lift, and strong knowledge of reservoir principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of field oil and gas production operation experience.
• Hands-on with ESPs, rod pumps and gas lift systems.
• Strong knowledge of reservoir principles and well performance analysis.
• Knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices in hydrocarbons.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficient with production reporting software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily oil and gas production operations at field level.
• Monitor well performance, equipment status, and production rates.
• Apply artificial lift techniques and optimize performance.
• Troubleshoot field issues and coordinate maintenance.
• Ensure HSE compliance and company policies.
• Collect and analyze production data to spot trends.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geologists on optimization.
• Manage field personnel and contractors effectively.
• Prepare daily and weekly production reports.
• Conduct regular field inspections and safety audits.
