Mission & Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, this position is responsible for defining, developing, and executing the industrial strategy for a designated perimeter in alignment with the company’s long‑term vision and commercial goals.

This leadership position commands an operational organization of more than 90 professionals, encompassing all industrial functions including production, process engineering, continuous improvement, and performance management. The Industry Manager ensures the delivery of business and operational objectives through effective resource allocation, operational excellence, and talent development.

Job Description

The Industry Manager plays a pivotal strategic role in driving Thales’ growth and positioning within the space engineering and industrial sector in Spain. Reporting directly to senior management, this position is responsible for defining, developing, and executing the industrial strategy for a designated perimeter in alignment with the company’s long‑term vision and commercial goals.

This leadership position commands an operational organization of more than 90 professionals, encompassing all industrial functions including production, process engineering, continuous improvement, and performance management. The Industry Manager ensures the delivery of business and operational objectives through effective resource allocation, operational excellence, and talent development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the Medium-Term Industrial Plan (MTIP) and develop the multi-year operating budget (MYB), directly influencing operating profit, industrial performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead industrial transformation programs, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives, aligning internal and external stakeholders (including social partners and suppliers) with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Foster innovation and operational excellence by driving the industrialization of new products, processes, and standards in line with market and business strategy.
  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with commercial and institutional customers, internal engineering functions, and senior management, acting as a fundamental interface within and outside the company.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements and promote a culture of safety and sustainability.
  • Monitor industrial performance, optimize costs, improve efficiencies, and secure delivery performance to meet customer expectations.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse and large team of approximately 90 professionals, promoting collaboration across cross-functional teams to achieve strategic and operational goals.
  • Apply thorough knowledge of labor legislation, shift scheduling, production policies, and labor relations to effectively implement operational work plans and maintain compliant, efficient production environments.
Education & Qualifications
  • Master’s technical degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Physics) or equivalent technical background.
  • Advanced training or certification in Business Management, Industrial Operations, or Continuous Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) is highly valued.
  • MBA or Executive Education in Leadership, Strategy, or Operations Management would be an asset.
Experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in industrial or engineering environments, preferably within the aerospace, space, or high‑technology sectors.
  • Proven track record of leading large multi-disciplinary teams (80+ people) and managing complex industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budget management, and industrial transformation projects.
