Job summary

Lear Corporation's Lear For You team is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software powering industrial automation systems. You will collaborate with AI, controls, and mechanical engineering to deliver scalable, production-ready applications.

You will use C#/.NET and Python, develop real-time data processing, integrate with cameras and PLCs, and contribute to CI/CD and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• 2+ years in software development for industrial, embedded, real-time, or manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET and Python, with OO design and async programming.
• Experience with Git, SQL databases, and team collaboration practices.
• Familiarity with software architecture, design patterns, UML, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain industrial software applications using C# (.NET) and Python.
• Define software architecture and component designs, applying design patterns and UML.
• Develop multi-threaded and asynchronous apps for real-time image acquisition and data management.
• Integrate software with industrial hardware (cameras, PLCs) using standard protocols.
• Optimize performance for 24/7 production environments.
• Design and maintain data persistence and database integrations for traceability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for automation, AI, and manufacturing solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, Git, testing, and CI/CD.
• Support software commissioning, deployment, troubleshooting at sites.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and share knowledge.
