SLS Barcelona is seeking an Income Auditor to join our finance team. Under the Assistant Director of Finance, you will audit daily revenue streams, reconcile accounts, and prepare management reports to support controls and revenue maximisation.

We expect a Bachelor's in hospitality or business, 2+ years in hotel accounting, strong Excel skills, familiarity with accounting software, and fluency in Spanish and English. Join Ennismore's global hospitality group.

Job Description

What you’ll do

We are looking for an Income Auditor to join the team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Finance, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions related to hotel operations. Your primary role will involve auditing daily revenue streams, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports for management review. The Income Auditor plays a crucial part in maintaining financial controls, compliance with policies, and supporting operational departments in maximizing revenue opportunities.

• Verify and reconcile daily transactions from all revenue-generating departments, including rooms, food and beverage, banquet, and spa.
• Audit cash, credit card, and other payment transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Review room charges, adjustments, and discounts for accuracy and proper authorization.
• Prepare daily revenue reports detailing income, expenses, and variances.
• Compile weekly and monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Reconcile guest ledger accounts and accounts receivable balances.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls over financial transactions.
• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Liaise with operational departments to address financial discrepancies and improve revenue reporting processes.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.

Qualifications

What we are looking for...

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business administration or related field.
• +2 years of experience in a hotel’s accounting department.
• Knowledge of financial auditing techniques and procedures.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software
• Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
