Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Project Manager for a reputable nonprofit focused on community development in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will lead planning, execution, and monitoring of initiatives spanning education, healthcare, and infrastructure, coordinating with community leaders, local authorities, and donors.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in social sciences or related field, at least 5 years in project management within rural settings, strong organizational and communication skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in project management with community development focus.
• Experience managing projects in rural or semi-urban settings.
• Grant management and donor reporting advantageous.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in basic project management tools and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resources for community development initiatives.
• Coordinate project activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs in Queenstown.
• Engage and build strong relationships with community stakeholders, local authorities, and partner organizations.
• Oversee project implementation, monitoring progress, and addressing challenges as they arise.
• Manage project budgets effectively, ensuring responsible financial stewardship and timely reporting.
• Conduct needs assessments and feasibility studies for new community projects.
• Prepare regular project reports for internal review and for donors or funding bodies.
• Ensure project activities adhere to ethical guidelines and sustainability principles.
• Facilitate community participation and feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
