UST is seeking a Python Developer / Application Owner to join our Madrid team on a hybrid model. You will design, develop, and maintain business-critical applications for a banking client, taking end-to-end ownership from planning to support.

The role requires strong Linux operations, Django, and SQL experience, with Celery/Redis for background tasks, REST APIs, and CI/CD. You will collaborate with engineering, QA, and business teams to deliver reliable, secure software.

Formación

• Strong experience with Linux-based application operations and deployment.
• Strong Python development skills with Django.
• Experience with SQL and enterprise databases (Oracle and Trino preferred).
• Experience with background processing and caching technologies such as Celery and Redis.
• Web application development experience using JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience with Git-based development and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, especially in multi-system environments.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with development, QA, and business teams.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating environment readiness, issues, and dependencies.
• Ability to handle multiple environments and parallel testing cycles efficiently.
• Nice to have NGINX/Gunicorn administration. REST API design and system integrations. Authentication and authorization experience (SSO, RBAC).

Responsabilidades

• Act as the primary point of contact for an application which manages risk and control data, executes controls, and reports results.
• Plan and manage throughout the application lifecycle, bridging the gap between business stakeholders, development teams, infrastructure teams, and external vendors.
• Ensure that applications meet business requirements, comply with organizational standards, and deliver reliable services to end users.
• Ensure that all environments follow internal security guidelines, audit requirements, and industry standards.
• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications and services.
• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned applications.
• Manage application lifecycle, including enhancements, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Ensure application availability, performance, security, and compliance.
• Analyse and resolve incidents, problems, and root causes.
