Hitachi Energy is seeking a professional to develop and enhance the PDB-Tool, ensuring it meets user needs and aligns with company goals. You will oversee the tool's architecture and roadmap, engage stakeholders, and ensure technical excellence while supporting application testing and deployment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong C# development skills and advanced proficiency in SQL, along with a strategic mindset for continuous improvement.

The opportunity

• Drive the development and enhancement of the PDB-Tool globally to meet User needs and align with company goals.
• Oversee the tool's architecture, coding adherence and roadmap, prioritizing development tasks.
• Liaise with local PDB Users/Development Teams to ensure aligned development and extension of tool into additional product lines.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Drive Strategic Tool Development: Define and maintain the tool’s architecture and roadmap in alignment with Business Unit’s PDB Roadmap.
• Analysing detailed business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for the application and configuration of the end user applications and/or system.
• Coding internally developed applications and/or configuring commercial‑off‑the‑shelf (COTS) applications using programming, scripting, and database languages.
• Supporting application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements.
• Ensure Technical Excellence: Oversee code quality through reviews, testing, and performance monitoring.
• Prioritization & Backlog: Manage the product backlog and prioritize features based on user needs and strategic direction.
• Implement Scalable Solutions: Ensure the tool is scalable, adaptable, and meets evolving company requirements.
• User-Centric Design: Incorporate user feedback to enhance usability and functionality.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate communication between users and developers, ensuring alignment and transparency.
• Support & Documentation: Provide last-level support, maintain documentation, and deliver training and release notes.

• Familiarity with engineering and software development processes.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong C# Development Skills: Proficient in C# with experience in building robust applications.
• Advanced proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Architectural & QA Knowledge: Solid understanding of software architecture, code review, and quality assurance practices.
• Familiar with secure coding standards and industry best practices.
• Effective in task prioritization, user collaboration, training, and documentation.
• Ability to lead tool development teams and provide technical guidance.
• Strategic & Continuous Improvement Mindset: Skilled in strategic thinking and committed to ongoing improvement.
