Hitachi Energy is seeking a senior contributor to drive the development and enhancement of the PDB-Tool on a global scale. You will oversee the tool’s architecture, roadmap, and coding standards while coordinating with local users and development teams to extend the tool into other product lines.

You will analyze requirements, code internally developed applications, support testing and deployment, and ensure high quality through reviews and performance monitoring.

• Drive development and enhancement of the PDB-Tool globally to meet user needs and align with company goals.
• Oversee tool architecture, coding adherence and roadmap, prioritizing development tasks.
• Liaise with local PDB users/development teams to align development and extend tool into additional product lines.
• Define and maintain tool architecture and roadmap in line with PDB Roadmap.
• Analyse requirements for end-user applications and configurations.
• Code internally developed applications and configure COTS where applicable.
• Support testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution by fixing issues and implementing enhancements.
• Oversee code quality through reviews, testing and performance monitoring.
• Manage product backlog and prioritize features based on user needs and strategic direction.
• Ensure the tool is scalable, adaptable and meets evolving company requirements.
• Incorporate user feedback to improve usability and functionality.
• Facilitate communication between users and developers, ensuring alignment.
• Provide last-level support, maintain documentation, and deliver training and release notes.

The opportunity

• Drive the development and enhancement of the PDB-Tool globally to meet User needs and align with company goals.
• Overseeing the tool’s architecture, coding adherence and roadmap, prioritizing development tasks.
• Liaising with local PDB Users/Development Teams to ensure aligned development and extension of tool into additional product lines.

How you’ll make an impact

• Drive Strategic Tool Development: Define and maintain the tool’s architecture and roadmap in alignment with Business Unit’s PDB Roadmap
• Analysing detailed business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for the application and configuration of the end user applications and/or system
• Coding internally developed applications and/or configuring commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using programming, scripting, and database languages.
• Supporting application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements.
• Ensure Technical Excellence: Oversee code quality through reviews, testing, and performance monitoring.
• Prioritization & Backlog: Manage the product backlog and prioritize features based on user needs and strategic direction.
• Implement Scalable Solutions: Ensure the tool is scalable, adaptable, and meets evolving company requirements.
• User-Centric Design: Incorporate user feedback to enhance usability and functionality.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate communication between users and developers, ensuring alignment and transparency.
• Support & Documentation: Provide last-level support, maintain documentation, and deliver training and release notes

Your background

• Proven ability to engage and manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
• Capable of managing resources and assessing risks in complex projects.
• Familiarity with engineering and software development processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong C# Development Skills: Proficient in C# with experience in building robust applications.
• Advanced proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Architectural & QA Knowledge: Solid understanding of software architecture, code review, and quality assurance practices.
• Familiar with secure coding standards and industry best practices.
• Effective in task prioritization, user collaboration, training, and documentation.
• Ability to lead tool development teams and provide technical guidance.
• Strategic & Continuous Improvement Mindset: Skilled in strategic thinking and committed to ongoing improvement.
