Job description

Your expertise can make a difference. Your decisions can protect lives.

At Hitachi Energy, safety is more than a priority — it's a commitment that shapes everything we do.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced HSE Technician who is ready to take ownership, influence decisions, and make a real impact on how we work safely across our operations.

Based in Seville and connected to an international network of engineering and energy professionals, you will play a key role in strengthening our safety culture, anticipating risks, and ensuring that our people, projects, and operations meet the highest HSE standards.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to go beyond compliance, contribute ideas, challenge existing practices, and become a trusted HSE partner in a technologically advanced and evolving industry.

If you believe great safety performance starts with people, technical excellence, and the courage to make things better, we'd love to meet you.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Be a driving force behind our safety culture, empowering teams to embrace safe working practices and fostering an environment where prevention is everyone's responsibility.
  • Take the lead in identifying and managing HSE risks, with a strong focus on electrical safety, industrial operations, and effective preventive measures.
  • Turn challenges into improvements by investigating incidents and near misses, identifying root causes, and implementing meaningful corrective actions.
  • Shape and strengthen our HSE standards, ensuring compliance with Spanish legislation and supporting ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Become a trusted partner for our engineering teams and contractors, providing expert guidance, delivering engaging safety training, and supporting safe operations.
  • Make an impact beyond our local operations, collaborating with international stakeholders and visiting European sites to promote consistent, high-quality HSE practices.

Your Background

  • A technical mindset and a strong HSE foundation: University degree in Engineering or a related technical field, together with a Master's Degree in Occupational Risk Prevention (PRL), including all three specializations: Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Ergonomics & Applied Psychosociology, qualifying for Advanced Level PRL functions in Spain.
  • Experience that makes a difference: At least 3 years of HSE experience, ideally gained in electrical engineering, energy, manufacturing, or other complex industrial environments.
  • Confidence in managing real-world risks: Practical knowledge of electrical hazards, risk assessments, preventive measures, incident investigations, and contractor safety.
  • A commitment to excellence: Good understanding of Spanish HSE legislation, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001. Internal auditing experience or certification would be an advantage.
  • An international mindset: Strong Spanish and English communication skills (minimum B2), with the ability to engage and influence multidisciplinary teams.
  • The right attitude: Proactive, approachable, analytical, and confident in making decisions, with a genuine passion for safety and continuous improvement. Availability for occasional travel across Europe is required.
