Jobtailor in Barcelona, Spain, seeks a senior leader to head the Technical Services team, overseeing cryogenic laboratories, assembly workshops and machining facilities.

You will drive safe operations, manage budgets for multiple spaces, lead cross-functional projects and report to senior stakeholders with a focus on continuous improvement.

Formación

• Significant experience leading engineering or operational teams in manufacturing, engineering or scientific environments.
• Proven project leadership in complex technical or operational settings.
• Experience managing external partners and assessing supplier performance and value for money.
• Strong operational reporting and presentation skills with senior leaders, customers and technical teams.
• Strong budgetary control, forecasting and delivery management.
• Excellent stakeholder, supplier and relationship management capability.
• Pragmatic leadership style with ability to translate complex objectives into clear priorities and elevate issues early with solutions.
• Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Manufacturing.
• Experience forecasting and managing annual operational budgets, particularly £2m–£6m (nice-to-have).
• Lean management and risk management experience (nice-to-have).
• Negotiation and mediation skills (nice-to-have).
• Leadership qualification or training (nice-to-have).
• Health & Safety qualification or training (nice-to-have).

Responsabilidades

• Lead, develop and motivate the Technical Services team including technicians, machinists and supervisors.
• Ensure safe, reliable and effective operation of OQC’s technical spaces in Spain, including cryogenic laboratories, assembly workshops and machining facilities.
• Oversee maintenance schedules, internal work orders and operational performance.
• Use reporting and metrics to drive delivery and continuous improvement.
• Manage external supplier relationships, assess value for money and establish contracts and services with Supply Chain, Purchasing and Legal.
• Lead cross-functional projects and improvement initiatives.
• Manage technical space expenditure, budget forecasts and delivery timelines.
• Provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Execute Engineering Operations roadmap priorities and ensure accountability through delivery.
