Camper & NNormal seeks a Head of Materials Development on Mallorca to lead a talented team and drive material strategy for footwear, apparel, and accessories. You will oversee ideation to commercialization, collaborating with design and key vendors to build seasonal and long-term libraries.

Fluency in English is required, Spanish is a plus. You will manage budgets, negotiate prices, and ensure sustainable, innovative material solutions across the Camper group.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Materials engineering, science, design or related field.
• 5+ years' professional experience in materials development, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Proven experience managing a team.
• Expertise in material types including fibers, yarn, textile, leather, synthetic leather, components, or trims.
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a team of material developers in Textile, leather, synthetic, trims from ideation to commercialization.
• Manage the Materials critical path to meet deadlines, quality and cost targets.
• Collaborate with design teams and key vendors to build seasonal and long-term material library.
• Lead price negotiations and support costing and quality teams.
• Develop material sourcing strategy with the Sourcing team for Camper group.
• Present innovative, sustainable solutions shaping product direction.
• Guide sourcing of Core, Seasonal materials and related components.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Work with sustainability to advance Camper’s strategy.
• Manage Materials Seasonal Budget.
• Oversee Materials Library (Physical & Virtual).
• Maintain material database in PLM and track CO2 data.
• Stay ahead of material trends and innovations.

Head of Materials Development

The Head of Materials Development will lead a team of talented Material developers based in Mallorca. The Materials Development Manager will drive the success of our products for Footwear, Apparel and accessories through the material within Camper & NNormal brands.

Main accountabilities

• With strong focus on Footwear Lead, guide and empower a team of material Developers in Textile, leather, Synthetic, trims responsible from ideation to commercialisation phase
• Manage the Materials critical path and make sure all the deadlines are fulfilled in time, quality and cost efficient
• Work together with the design team and our key vendors to build the seasonal and long-term material library
• Being the guardian and key person in price negotiation and quality control supporting the camper internal costing and quality team
• Working together with the sourcing team to build a clear material strategy sourcing vision for Camper group
• Influence decision making by presenting innovative, sustainable solutions and allow the designers and technician to build excellent products
• Guide the material team to source all Core, Seasonal materials and components upper, lining, Packaging, & Others
• Build & maintain a long term and strong relationships with suppliers.
• Working with the sustainability team to build the strategy of Camper group and maintain level of excellence in this field
• Manage the Materials Seasonal Budget
• Ownership of Materials Library - Physical & Virtual
• Responsible with the material team to manage the materials database in PLM and CO2 Data
• Being on top of all the innovation and material trends in Textile, leather and any other type of materials.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Materials engineer, science, design and any other related field
• 5+ years' professional experience in materials development, manufacturing, or engineering
• Proven experience of managing a team
• Demonstrated expertise in material types, including fibers, yarn, textile, leather, synthetic leather, components, or trims
• Strong communication skills and fluent in English, Spanish is a plus
• Creative Problem-solving ability mixed with technical know-how
• Ability to work within an entrepreneurial, small and agile creative team environment
• Ability to manage and detect Risks in advance
• Strong knowledge of MS office software as well as Product lifecycle management system
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
