Gomining is seeking an experienced Head of Custody & Compliance to lead and evolve our digital asset custody, AML/KYC, and operations infrastructure.

You will work with engineering, product, legal, and executive teams to balance regulatory requirements with security and customer experience. This leadership role focuses on scalable, secure financial infrastructure and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Strong professional background in crypto custody, compliance, AML/KYC, or digital asset operations.
• Experience in cryptocurrency exchange, custody provider, crypto wallet, or crypto-focused financial institution.
• Deep understanding of AML/KYC, transaction monitoring, Travel Rule, and crypto compliance processes.
• Practical experience with custody infrastructure and digital asset transaction flows.

Responsabilités

• Lead custody infrastructure and digital asset operations to scale securely.
• Oversee deposits, withdrawals, and transaction processing and optimize workflows.
• Build and manage relationships with custody providers (Fireblocks, Copper, BitGo, etc.).
• Implement KYC, AML, and Travel Rule requirements and monitoring processes.
• Lead fraud detection, transaction monitoring, and risk management initiatives.
• Collaborate with legal, risk, engineering, product, and senior leadership on strategy.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Custody & Compliance to lead and develop our digital asset custody, compliance infrastructure, and financial operations.

We need someone with deep, hands‑on experience in crypto custody, AML/KYC, transaction monitoring, and digital asset operations.

You should understand how these systems work in practice, how to build them at scale, and how to balance regulatory requirements, security, and customer experience.

This is a leadership opportunity for someone who wants to go beyond traditional compliance management and take ownership of an entire business direction.

You will work closely with our engineering, product, legal, and executive teams to build secure, efficient, and scalable financial infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Custody & Digital Asset Operations

• Lead and develop custody infrastructure and digital asset operations.
• Oversee cryptocurrency deposits, withdrawals, and transaction processing.
• Manage relationships with custody providers such as Fireblocks, Copper, BitGo, and similar platforms.
• Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of digital asset operations.
• Identify and resolve operational risks, bottlenecks, and critical incidents.

Compliance & AML/KYC

• Lead the operational implementation of KYC, AML, and Travel Rule requirements.
• Develop and optimize customer verification and transaction monitoring processes.
• Build effective compliance workflows, including case management, escalation procedures, and operational controls.
• Improve compliance efficiency through automation and technology.
• Work closely with Legal, Risk, and relevant compliance stakeholders to ensure regulatory requirements are properly implemented.

Fraud Prevention & Risk Management

• Develop and improve fraud detection and prevention processes.
• Oversee transaction monitoring and suspicious activity detection.
• Reduce fraud exposure while minimizing unnecessary restrictions for legitimate customers.
• Monitor operational risks and continuously improve internal controls.

Providers & Infrastructure

• Manage relationships with custody, KYC, AML, and blockchain infrastructure providers.
• Evaluate and select technology solutions.
• Negotiate commercial terms and service agreements.
• Work with engineering teams on integrations and infrastructure improvements.

Leadership & Business Development

• Lead the Custody & Compliance direction and its operational development.
• Manage priorities, resources, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve existing solutions.
• Define and monitor operational performance metrics.
• Contribute to product strategy and business decisions related to custody and compliance.
• Work directly with senior leadership on strategic initiatives.

• Strong professional background in crypto custody, compliance, AML/KYC, or digital asset operations.
• Experience working in a cryptocurrency exchange, custody provider, crypto wallet, digital asset platform, or crypto‑focused financial institution.
• Deep understanding of AML/KYC, transaction monitoring, Travel Rule, and crypto compliance processes.
• Practical experience with custody infrastructure and digital asset transaction flows.
• Experience working with custody, compliance, or blockchain infrastructure providers.
• Proven ability to build, manage, and optimize operational processes.
• Experience leading teams or complex cross‑functional initiatives.
• Strong understanding of operational and regulatory risks in the crypto industry.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Nice-to-have
  • Experience with Fireblocks, Copper, BitGo, or similar custody solutions.
  • Experience with Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Sumsub, or similar compliance platforms.
  • Experience managing product development or working closely with engineering teams.
  • Understanding of product metrics, customer conversion, and business economics.
  • Experience scaling custody or compliance infrastructure in a fast‑growing crypto company.
  • Previous experience as Head of Compliance, Head of Custody, Head of Crypto Operations, or similar.
