UON is seeking an experienced HDMechanic – Leading Hand to join the Energy team at Malaga, WA. Perth base with an early start (6am) to 2:30pm, with travel to sites as needed.

You will lead a mechanical team, mentor apprentices, plan weekly maintenance, and oversee repair and commissioning of UON power and water equipment. Requirements include Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, 2+ years in a supervisory role, and diesel engine expertise (Cummins KTA50 preferred).

Formación

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade is essential.
• 2+ years in a leading hand or supervisory role on mine sites preferred.
• Experience repairing/rebuilding diesel engines, especially Cummins.
• Experience with scheduled maintenance of diesel engines.
• Renewable energy field experience is a plus.
• Post-trade leadership experience is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate team performance and provide feedback to Management.
• Resolve conflicts and escalate issues to line manager/HR as needed.
• Mentor and train apprentices and the mechanical team.
• Assist in work planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for weekly maintenance.
• Conduct planned and ad hoc inspections of UON products.
• Travel to sites or stay at Perth base as required.
• Install and commission UON products in workshops and mine sites.
• Perform predictive and reactive service, maintenance, and repair.
• Carry out general maintenance and component changes on mining equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, advise on solutions.
• Modify and assemble equipment to company specs.
• Reassemble diesel engines and parts after repairs.

Skills & Experience

• A minimum Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade
• Current and valid WA HR Class Drivers Licence(Preferred)
• A minimum of 2-years' experience working as a leading hand or within a supervisory position.
• Experience in repairing and rebuilding diesel engines - CUMMINS - KTA50 preferable.
• Experience in scheduled maintenance of diesel engines.
• Experience in renewable energy field.
• Minimum of 2 years post trade experience working as team leadership or working in a similar role, preferably on Mine Sites.
• Cert IV in Management / Leadership Training (Preferred)
• Ability to mentor and lead a team of Mechanic.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Evaluate the quality of work of team members and provide feedback to Management for reviews
• Resolving issues between team members and elevating concerns to line manager and or HR as required
• Assist, guide and mentor & training apprentices, mechanical team & trade assistance sharing your knowledge and provide hands on assistance as required.
• Assist in work planning, scheduling and resource allocation with a focus on the weekly maintenance plan.
• Undertake planned and ADHOC inspections on the condition of UON products as required.
• Travel away from home to site or stay at the Perth base Yard as per work needs.
• Installation and commissioning of UON products in workshop/ Yard and WA mine sites.
• Predictive and reactive service, maintenance and repair of UON and client equipment as required.
• Complete general maintenance, repairs and component change outs on a variety of surface mining equipment.
• Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts of the power generation equipment by trouble shooting and provide professional advice as required
• Mechanically modifying and Assembly of equipment sold or owned by UON, including pumps and power generation equipment,as required to Company specifications.
• Reassembling diesel engines and parts after being repaired.
