Novanta Inc. in Barcelona, Spain seeks a Hardware Engineer to advance hardware for the stepper motors product line, collaborating with operations and R&A teams to improve reliability and manufacturability.

You will design and verify schematics and layouts, perform circuit analyses, bring-up new boards, and contribute to documentation, test plans, and cross-functional reviews with customers and suppliers.

Formación

• MS or PhD in Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in electronic circuit design and assembly.
• Experience with PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes.
• Experience in electronics verification and validation.
• Proficient in Altium Designer; fluent in Spanish and English.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain the hardware for the R&A products, focusing on stepper motors.
• Design new and redesign existing circuits, including schematic and layout.
• Conduct detailed circuit analysis and optimize designs with component selection.
• Hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging, and optimization.
• Review and improve product documentation and test plans.
• Collaborate with QA to define test plans.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers for product development.

Come explore Novanta.As a Hardware Engineer, you'll be focused on collaborating with the operations team in quality and operational improvements of all the hardware designs of the stepper motors product line. The selected engineer will also collaborate in the design, implementation and verification of the new designs of potentially any of the R&A products. The position requires good hardware skills but also a deep understanding of design for manufacturing and reliability.Primary ResponsabilitiesDevelop and maintain the hardware running the R&A products, with special focus on stepper motors.Design new and redesign existing electronic circuits, including schematic and layout.Conduct detailed circuit analysis and optimize designs through effective component selection and performance evaluation, including circuit simulation.Hands-on new hardware board bring-up, system debugging, and optimization.Review and improve external documentation (Product manuals, Datasheets, etc.).Improve internal documentation (Architecture, Detailed Design, etc.).Define, in conjunction with the Quality Assurance team, the Test and Verification Plans.Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and stakeholders to align technical requirements and solutions.Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers to support product development and integration.Required Experiencie, Education and CompetenciesMs o PhD in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering , or technical related disciplineMinimum working experience 2 yearsExperience with Electronic circuit technology design and assembly processesBackground in electrical power applicationsExperience with PCB / PCA manufacturing processesExperience in electronics verificaton and validationAbility to write technical documents such as assembly instructions, test procedures, and test and analysis reportsAltium Designer proven experienceFluent written and spoken Spanish and English.Novanta is proud to be an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action workplace.
