Job summary

Sener is seeking an HW Electronics Designer to join our Avionics and Flight System Division in Madrid (Tres Cantos) and Santander. You will design HW electronics for space and defence, run analyses, and create test plans. Collaboration across PM, thermal/structural, V&V and manufacturing is essential.

We value experience in RF/high-speed boards, programming in Python/C/C++, VHDL, and Matlab basics, with a drive for rigorous, traceable work and international teamwork.

Qualifications

• Requires engineering degree and strong electronics background.
• Good command of English for international collaboration.
• Experience in analog, power, digital, RF electronics development.
• Desirable RF and high data rate board design experience.
• Proficiency with schematic capture, analysis and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of Python, C, C++, VHDL; Matlab basics helpful.
• Familiarity with defence/space standards and norms.

Responsibilities

• Detailed HW-Electronics design for space/defence applications; boards/functions.
• Prepare design analyses and simulations (performance, FMEA, stress).
• Develop tests plans and procedures for designs.
• Characterize and test various designs.
• Support requirements analysis: assessment, criticality, cost, flow-down.
• Document design definitions and keep records.
• Collaborate with PM, thermal/structural, V&V, PCB layout, manufacturing and integration.
• Contribute to know-how evolution in the discipline.
• Suggest improvements to functions, tooling and user information.

Sener Aerospace and Defence is currently looking for HW Electronics Designer to join our Avionics and Flight System Division at our work centre in Madrid (Tres Cantos) and Santander. We are a pioneering engineering company in the design of satellite technology and equipment for space exploration. In defence, we design and produce equipment and systems, including unmanned systems. What you will do:

• Detailed design of HW-Electronics (functions or boards) for space and defence applications
• Preparation of design related analysis and simulations (performance, FMEA, Parts stress)
• Preparation of test plans/procedures
• Characterization and testing of the different designs
• Support to requirement analysis activities: requirements assessment, criticality, complexity, cost-driving analysis, requirements flow-down…
• Documentation of the proposed design (design definition files)
• Support to other project involved areas as Project Management, thermal & structural engineering, V&V engineering, PCB layout and design, manufacturing and integration…
• Participation in the company know-how evolution of the involved discipline
• Contribution to design improvements (functions, tools, user information…)

• Engineering Degree.
• High level of English.
• Proven experience in developing electronics (analog, power, digital, RF…)
• Highly desirable: experience in RF and High data rate boards design
• Skills in the use of electronic design related tools: schematics capture, analysis and simulation…
• Knowledge and practice on other related areas (programming in Python, C, C++…, VHDL knowledge, basic notions of Matlab, basic notions of thermal concepts..)
• Desirable: familiar with defence or space usual development standards and normative
• Willingness and readiness for digital/connected industry: data analytics, processes automatization, cross-collaboration tools, Model-based engineering…
