Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a ROC Technical Lead for the Remote Operations Center (Wind Energy) based in Barcelona, Spain. You will monitor turbine performance, diagnose issues remotely, and support commissioning and service activities to ensure reliable offshore wind operation.

You will collaborate with site teams, analyze data for faults, and drive continuous improvement while staying compliant with safety standards and grid requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent wind energy experience.
• Hands-on wind turbine experience in operational environments.
• Ability to read electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
• Experience with SCADA systems and digital monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear communication under pressure.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% and relocate to Barcelona.
• Fluent in English; willingness to relocate to Barcelona and EU work eligibility.

About the role

As a ROC Technical Lead, you support the safe and efficient operation of advanced offshore wind assets from a remote operations center. You play a key role across both commissioning and service phases, helping ensure turbines perform reliably throughout their lifecycle.

You work closely with site teams and engineering experts to detect, analyze, and resolve technical issues, ensuring stable operations and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

In this role, you will:

• Monitor turbine performance and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions
• Support commissioning and service activities through remote diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Assist field teams in resolving technical issues and restoring performance
• Escalate complex issues with clear and structured technical information
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve problems

• Support grid outages when required, prioritising safety and compliance
• Work on a rotating weekday shift schedule with occasional on-call support during weekends and public holidays

What you bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience in the wind energy sector
• Hands‑on experience with wind turbines or similar electromechanical systems in operational environments
• Ability to read electrical schematics and apply them in troubleshooting and field support situations
• Experience with SCADA systems and other digital monitoring tools
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with clear technical communication, calm structured approach under pressure, and a collaborative, proactive mindset
• Availability to travel up to 20% of the time, if required.
• Fluent English (spoken and written), willingness to relocate to Barcelona and EU work eligibility.
