EIT Urban Mobility in Barcelona seeks a Grant Financial Officer to oversee grant assurance and financial compliance across Horizon Europe funding. You will support sub-grantees and internal stakeholders ensuring sound financial management and alignment with funding requirements.

Join a multicultural Finance Team and contribute to budgeting, reporting, and audits while improving NetSuite usage and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced EU innovation environment.

Formación

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in an audit firm, including at least 3 years of experience auditing EU-funded projects.
• Experience working with organisations with complex governance structures, multiple legal entities, diverse stakeholders, and European networks.
• Experience in the financial management and monitoring of EU-funded projects.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English (minimum C1 level).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to a variety of audiences.
• Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.

Responsabilidades

• Support partners in understanding and interpreting Horizon Europe rules.
• Contribute to EIT Urban Mobility's audit processes (EIT Certificate on the Financial Statements, internal checks, statutory audits).
• Ensure the correct allocation of costs for each transaction in coordination with the Accounting and Controlling functions.
• Support internal teams and sub-grantees during amendments to Financial Support Agreements.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of NetSuite in collaboration with the IT team.
• Participate in budget implementation, financing decisions, and the annual Business Plan, including planning, monitoring and reporting of the budget.
• Support the preparation of EIT Urban Mobility's annual financial report and annual grant amendment.
• Support the processing and follow-up of grant and sub-grant payments, acting as back-up within the Finance Team when required.
• Support audit and internal review processes through the preparation of documentation, reconciliations, and follow-up actions.

The Grant Financial Officer is part of the Finance Team and will report directly to the Head of Finance. The role is responsible for grant assurance and financial compliance throughout the grant lifecycle, supporting sub-grantees and internal stakeholders to ensure the sound financial management of grants and compliance with Horizon Europe, EIT Urban Mobility, and other applicable funding requirements.

Key responsibilities

Kindly note that this is a permanent and full-time position and it is based in Barcelona, Spain.

Possibility to homework 2 days a week.
