Job summary

AstraZeneca plc in Barcelona seeks a Global Study Associate Director to lead global studies from handover to close-out. The role requires on-site presence three days per week and fluent English.

You will own study delivery against timelines, budgets and quality, coordinating internal functions and external partners to deliver evidence for life-changing medicines. You will drive planning, risk management and inspection readiness, translating plans into executable actions while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• University degree in medical or biological sciences or related field.
• 5 years of relevant clinical experience in pharma, including 2 years in project management.
• Extensive knowledge of ICH-GCP and regulatory requirements.
• Proven project management and leadership abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional study teams or oversee outsourced delivery to meet milestones within timelines, budget and quality.
• Coordinate communication across all functions and external partners; lead investigator meetings and study-related meetings.
• Develop essential study documents from CSP to CSR in line with AZ SOPs.
• Ensure CROs, labs, IXRS and other providers meet goals and timelines; oversee vendor activities as needed.
• Contribute to study plans, risk management, contingency planning and quality management at the study level.
• Monitor information accuracy in systems like ACCORD/ABACUS and PharmaCM.
• Oversee TMF completion and ensure documentation is in place and QC'ed.
• Ensure governance compliance (Delegation of Authority, Sunshine Act, etc.).
• Serve as primary management contact during audits or inspections.
