Job summary

Amentum is seeking a certified Marine Gas Turbine Inspector (MGTI) to join our team in Rota, Spain, supporting the Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center (FDRMC). This role directly contributes to sustaining U.S. Navy propulsion and power generation systems in forward-deployed operations.

You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair shipboard gas turbine engines, provide on-site and distant support (OCONUS), and train ship's personnel while documenting findings in Navy systems.

Qualifications

• Active MGTI certification current at hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Experience maintaining, installing, testing and repairing shipboard gas turbine engines.
• Ability to troubleshoot, fault isolate, and perform corrective maintenance at journeyman level.
• Experience with Navy HM&E systems in operational or maintenance settings.
• Familiarity with MFOM/NMD, FTS and CASREP reporting.
• Ability to read technical manuals and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide Fleet Technical Assistance to troubleshoot and resolve gas turbine casualties.
• Perform on-site and distant support for US Navy vessels and OCONUS locations.
• Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and testing to restore propulsion and power systems.
• Support readiness evaluations and maintenance documentation per JFMM.
• Train ship's force personnel on operations and maintenance procedures.
• Travel to support forward-deployed naval forces as required.
