The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) seeks a motivated GENOMICS PLATFORM TECHNICIAN IN TRAINING. The Genomics unit supports high-level research from experimental design to data interpretation, equipped with state-of-the-art instruments for genome-wide analyses and NGS.

This is a training contract with a focus on sequencing and molecular biology techniques. Eligibility requires a biology-related degree, ability to work autonomously, and good English communication skills.

Formación

• Educational background in biology or a related field (hold a higher training cycle or higher degree).
• Excellent writing and speaking English.

Responsabilidades

• Support internal and external projects in the Genomics Unit.
• DNA isolation from a range of sample types.
• Nucleic acid quantification and quality control.
• Prepare samples for array-based and sequencing workflows (DNA Methylation, SNP Genotyping).
• Operate Illumina MiSeq-DX and MiSeqi100Plus for sequencing protocols.
• Maintain SOPs and audit trails; document work.
• Handle sample reception and logging; manage lab stocks and orders.
• Report to the Unit Manager.
