Overview

General Manager with experience in merchant acquiring - Spain

Mostyn Chase are actively recruiting for a permanent General Manager role based in Spain, ideally in either Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia.

Our client is an international Fintech company on a mission to eliminate plastic POS terminals by replacing them with a revolutionary mobile application. The company was launched by a global payments company that partners with an impressive list of clients including Amex, Mastercard and Visa.

Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for helping the business continue its expansion across Europe by contributing to the development and implementation of a strategic roadmap and a streamlined go-to-market strategy. You will grow the company’s local presence and market share by building upon their current organisational strengths, whilst also considering local market trends and the competitive landscape.

As the first employee on the ground in Holland you will also be responsible for building our clients operations across marketing, sales, customer support and strategic partnerships. You will drive new sales activity and work closely with business development teams to oversee the sales process to winning new opportunities in the local market.

What skills and experiences are required?

This is a wide-ranging role suited to an individual with excellent leadership qualities in a start-up, scale-up or business transformation environment within digital services. You must have demonstrable experience within the payments space particularly on the merchant side and be a strong self-starter who is not afraid to fail, learn and try again.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have demonstrable management experience and a full understanding of the P&L drivers for tech operations.
  • Have the ability to make data lead decisions.
  • Be a natural team builder who is able to demonstrate the ability to assemble, develop and retain top talent.
  • Be an excellent listener who can offer pragmatic and direct guidance to help solve business critical problems.
  • Be a thoughtful executive who is both collaborative and collegial in his/her approach.
