NEC Laboratories Europe in Madrid is seeking a Research Engineer or Junior Research Engineer to contribute to European research projects, prototype development and demonstrations with real-world impact.

The role focuses on Generative AI and cybersecurity, prototyping, documentation, demonstrations and evaluations, and collaboration with international partners in academia, industry and research organizations. The lab’s working language is English.

Formación

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI or related field.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong Python programming skills, Git, and basic MLOps tools (Docker, CI/CD).
• Experience developing software prototypes or research apps.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience with GenAI and agentic applications.
• Experience in EU-funded or collaborative R&D projects is valued.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, CTI, GenAI agents, cloud platforms or CI/CD tools would be a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Develop software prototypes and proof-of-concept applications for EU-funded research projects.
• Contribute to technical work in Generative AI and cybersecurity.
• Support project deliverables, technical documentation, demonstrations and evaluations.
• Collaborate with international partners from academia, industry and research organizations.
