Novanta is seeking a Systems Engineer within Novanta R&A to define safe, reliable, and high‑performance motion control products for demanding industrial and medical applications. You will translate customer needs into system requirements, architectures, and verification strategies across hardware, firmware, software and mechanical disciplines.

You will work with a fast, experienced team, apply IEC 61508 and ISO 13849 standards, and contribute to safety analyses, diagnostics, and safety case

Formación

• MSc or PhD in Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
• 2+ years of systems engineering or functional safety experience.
• Experience with requirements management tools.
• Knowledge of IEC 61508 and ISO 13849.
• FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA risk analysis experience.
• English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain system requirements and architecture.
• Collaborate across hardware, firmware, software, mechanical teams.
• Define and maintain safety concepts and architectures.
• Support safety assessments and certification activities.
• Perform safety calculations (PFH, MTTFd, SFF).
