The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in Tarragona, Spain, offers a Fully-Funded PhD position in collaboration with URV. The project focuses on automation, data-driven workflows, and continuous-flow catalysis for pollutant recycling, with a 4-year pre-doctoral contract and a competitive Spanish salary.

Formación

• The position requires an MSc degree in Chemistry or related discipline.
• Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
• Strong foundation in synthetic organic chemistry; exposure to catalysis is an asset.
• Interest in automation, robotics, or flow chemistry; programming curiosity is a plus.
• Willingness to learn programming and data-driven approaches.

Responsabilidades

• Design and execute experiments using automated platforms and microfluidic reactors.
• Set up, operate, maintain and troubleshoot continuous-flow reactors.
• Plan, collect, and curate standardized datasets for training ML models.
• Analyze results and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Prepare project reports and contribute to scientific publications.
• Present research findings at group meetings and national/international conferences.
