Job summary

Allianz Technology in Europe is hiring a Software Engineer to plan, develop, test, and maintain software solutions. You will manage technical design and application development, including testing and integration with third-party software.

You will collaborate across agile teams to ensure performance, security and usability, while delivering maintainable systems within an evolving tech stack. A hybrid work model is offered with international collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, TypeScript and Angular for front-end development.
• Back-end development with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with REST/SOAP, SQL and databases (PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins for cloud/DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into technical software design and architecture.
• Design, test, debug, document and implement software components.
• Ensure non-functional requirements (performance, security, usability) are met.
• Contribute to agile software development teams using modern engineering practices.
• Support and consult during the concept phase of planned applications.

About The Job

The Software Engineer plans, develops, tests and maintains software solutions. You will manage the technical design and the application development, including testing the developed software.

This also includes support and consultation activities in the concept phase of the planned application.

What You Do

• Check functional and technical requirements regarding technical implementation and feasibility and translate them into the technical software design.
• Design, test, debug, document and implement software or application components of third-party software and of operating system-related software.
• Fulfill non-functional requirements of the solution, such as performance, data protection, IT security and ergonomics/usability.
• Ensure the future maintainability of the systems and consideration of the technical and functional environment in the context of the development of software.
• Develop software in agile teams and implement software engineering techniques and methods.

What You Bring

• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, Typescript, and frameworks like Angular. Proficiency with back-end development using Java, Spring Boot, or similar technologies
• Cloud technologies/DevOps: AWS, Kubernetes, Helm. Jenkins.
• Version control via Git. XML, JSON. SOAP, REST. SQL, databases (PostgreSQL).
• Kafka/EBS. Redux experience.
• Other tools: IntelliJ, DBVisualizer, ReadyAPI.
• Nice to have: Insurance knowledge (lines, contracts). BiPRO. Willingness to engage with technical topics/to familiarize yourself with the technical aspects. Jira, Confluence etc.
• English fluency both written and spoken, with German language being a plus.
• Machine learning knowledge is a strong advantage.
