This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Frontend Tech Lead in the European Union.

As a Frontend Tech Lead, you will drive the technical direction and architecture of large-scale, customer-facing web applications, focusing on React and TypeScript. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver performant, accessible, and scalable solutions. This role combines hands‑on engineering with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring engineers, shaping the frontend guild, and influencing long-term technical decisions. You will ensure best practices, design system consistency, and developer experience across squads while occasionally contributing to full‑stack solutions. The position offers a remote‑first, flexible work environment with opportunities to make a significant impact on both product and engineering culture.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the frontend technical strategy, defining best practices and driving adoption of modern architecture, component libraries, and performance optimizations.
  • Build customer-facing features using React, TypeScript, Next.js, and related libraries.
  • Facilitate guild discussions, align engineers across squads, and promote knowledge sharing and consistency in frontend development.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers, providing code reviews and guidance to strengthen frontend skills.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and Backend Engineers to deliver high-quality features.
  • Contribute to backend systems (Python, AWS, APIs, Kubernetes) when needed to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Drive engineering excellence by improving tooling, CI/CD, testing, and monitoring strategies.
  • Represent the frontend team in planning sessions, roadmap discussions, and cross-team initiatives.
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 5+ years focused on React and TypeScript.
  • Strong expertise in building and optimizing large-scale SPAs with attention to performance, accessibility, and design fidelity.
  • Experience contributing to backend systems (Python/Django/FastAPI, AWS, data pipelines).
  • Proven ability to lead technical discussions, influence architecture, and align teams on engineering standards.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching engineers, providing thoughtful feedback, and guiding career development.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional teams.
  • Forward-thinking mindset with awareness of emerging frontend trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience with design systems, state management libraries, data-intensive apps, or large-scale visualizations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is advantageous.
  • Based in Europe, with a remote-first work style and occasional team offsites.
