A global language services provider is seeking a Linguist to work remotely from Spain. The role involves curating and evaluating linguistic data, reviewing speech model outputs, and executing automation scripts. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Linguistics, fluency in French and English, and a keen eye for detail. This position offers a permanent contract and involves a 12-month engagement period.

Formación

• Strong understanding of core linguistic concepts such as phonetics, syntax, semantics, and morphology.
• Strong understanding of phonetic transcription (e.g., IPA), typically acquired through academic coursework.
• Previous experience in data curation, linguistic evaluation, or phoneme labeling is a plus.

DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking a Linguist with idiomatic fluency in French to join our team in Spain, working remotely on data curation and evaluation.

Role Summary

As a Linguist, you will curate and evaluate linguistic data, review outputs from speech models, and execute scripts for task automation. You will also provide feedback based on data analysis.

Role Responsibilities

• Curate and evaluate linguistic data with accuracy and attention to detail
• Review and assess outputs generated by speech models
• Execute scripts via command line for task automation or data handling (running, not developing)
• Provide feedback and draw conclusions based on the analyzed data
• Collaborate with the team to continuously improve data quality and task processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics
• Formal education or certification in Linguistics
• Strong understanding of core linguistic concepts such as phonetics, syntax, semantics, and morphology
• Strong understanding of phonetic transcription (e.g., IPA); typically acquired through academic coursework in BA/MA Linguistics
• Previous experience in similar tasks, such as data curation, linguistic evaluation, or phoneme labeling, is a plus
• Experience analyzing audio for phonetic patterns or working on linguistic annotations in TTS/ASR systems is a significant advantage
• Idiomatic fluency in French
• Advanced fluency in English
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in an additional language such as Italian or Spanish is a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
