Swahili Freelance Remote Translator

This role plays a vital role in helping our clients deliver their services efficiently by translating documents into the languages required by their service users. Your Role and Responsibilities

As a translator with Dals, you will translate digital documents for our clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines, and perform necessary proofreading. You will also communicate with our booking team for any needed support or to report issues, guaranteeing the readiness of documents for client submission.

Applicant Criteria

• Right to work in the country of residence
• Fluency in English and Swahili, second language at C1 level or higher
• Prepared to undergo a trial assessment
• Basic DBS check or equivalent security clearance for EU residents
• At least 1 year of translation experience, translating a minimum of 100,000 words or completing 100 assignments
• Relevant qualifications in Translation, Languages, Linguistics, or a related field (e.g., BA or MA in Translation, CIOL Level 7 Diploma in Translation, DPI Level 4 & 5 in Translation, BA or MA in Languages, Linguistics)

This role is completely flexible—you can choose when you work and how long you work for. You simply log into our interpreting app whenever you are ready to work, and we will pay you for each minute you work for.

As a freelance position, you will be responsible for your own tax payments.

Any Successful Candidate Must Have the Following

• Right to work in your country of residence
• Approx. 100 hours interpreting experience—as a professional or through voluntary work
• A valid security clearance or criminal background check
• Fluency in English and Swahili
• We will conduct a telephone language assessment
• EU residency
