Temple Compute seeks a founding Full Stack Product Engineer to shape our platform from the ground up in Barcelona. You’ll own features end-to-end, design the architecture, and drive delivery from problem to production. This is a high-responsibility, equity-backed role with real impact in a stealthy deep-tech startup.

You’ll blend backend Python with a modern React frontend, build a scalable workflow engine, and create a plugin SDK to empower third-party tools. Hybrid work in Barcelona offered.

Formación

• Production-grade backend experience in Python with FastAPI or Flask.
• Strong frontend: React, TypeScript, modern tooling (Vite).
• Relational databases at scale: SQLModel/SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, schema design.
• Docker and containerized environments.
• Authentication and security fundamentals: OAuth2, SSO, ABAC.
• Proven experience shipping production software in a senior or founding capacity.

Responsabilidades

• Own the product end to end from customer problem through build, deploy, and monitoring; this is a founding role.
• Build the workflow engine for distributed workflow execution across cloud and HPC environments.
• Develop the visual workflow editor so researchers can replace the command line.
• Design the SDK and plugin framework for third-party tools as native Horus components.
• Ship and own: automate deployment; fix architecture to avoid technical debt.

Founding Full Stack Product Engineer

Temple Compute is a deep-tech company founded by Barcelona Supercomputing Center ex-researchers. Our platform lets biotech teams, materials scientists, and AI researchers run complex simulation workflows without touching a cluster config file. We're looking for our first product-minded full stack engineer to help shape the platform from the ground up.

The Role

• Own the product end to end You carry features from customer problem and design through build, deploy, and monitoring. This is a founding role, not a ticket-taking one: you decide what matters, you build it, and you own it once it's live.
• Build the workflow engine Design and ship the backend that handles distributed workflow execution, job scheduling, state management, and failure recovery across cloud and HPC environments. This is not CRUD. Workflows are long-running, stateful, and run on infrastructure you don't fully control.
• Build the interface scientists actually use Develop the visual workflow editor that replaces the command line for researchers. Real-time job monitoring, drag-and-drop pipeline construction, result visualization. The UX has to be clean enough that a biologist with no DevOps background can use it on day one.
• Plugin architecture and marketplace Design the SDK and plugin framework that lets third-party developers distribute their simulation tools as native Horus components. Think extension system, not just API.
• Ship and own You design the feature, build it, deploy it, and monitor it. When deployment becomes painful, you automate it. When the architecture shows friction, you fix it before it becomes technical debt.

What You Need

• Production-grade backend experience in Python, FastAPI or Flask, REST API design
• Strong frontend: React, TypeScript, modern tooling (Vite)
• Relational databases at scale: SQLModel / SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, schema design, query optimization
• Docker and containerized environments
• Authentication and security fundamentals: OAuth2, SSO, attribute-based access control (ABAC)
• Proven experience shipping production software in a senior or founding capacity, comfortable owning architecture decisions
