Job summary

PepsiCo Inc. seeks a Packaging Engineer to support its packaging initiatives across Ready meals, sauces and dips, with focus on shelf-stable, chilled or frozen products.

You will develop and commercialize new packaging designs for Innovation and Sustainability, partnering with Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Purchasing and Finance to bring projects to life. You will ensure packaging requirements such as functionality, product protection and shelf life while maintaining

Qualifications

• Work experience in the development and execution of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging materials and have knowledge of the interrelationship with equipment.
• Strong project management skills in developing project timelines with multiple cross-functional touch points, and managing platform and project budgets, in addition to tracking of spend
• Strong conceptual, analytical and technical skills with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Maintain open communication and build strong relationships with internal & external teams from suppliers to cross functions

• Ability to follow technical stage gate process, create package development plan & timeline and manage project budget

• 15-25% domestic travel
• BS in Packaging Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics Engineering or equivalent
• 5 years work experience within food/beverage packaging

Responsibilities

• Focus on Ready meals, sauces, dips, etc. sold shelf stable, chilled or frozen.
• Create "go to market" solutions that deliver product efficiently via multiple distribution platforms and maintain a current understanding of packaging technologies.
• Demonstrate ability to incorporate technologies to optimize overall system cost and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal plants and co-packers and stay abreast of packaging industry developments.
• Translate requirements into packaging specifications and ensure alignment with product goals.
