Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Vila-seca, Tarragona, Spain, invites applications for a Fluid Systems Engineer I in a full-time hybrid role (70% on-site, 30% remote). You will perform thermal-hydraulic and piping design for plant modifications, size pumps, valves, tanks, heat exchangers, and coordinate with I&C, electrical, civil, licensing and layout teams.

Qualified candidates hold an Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear), 1+ year experience, fluency in Spanish and English,

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear.
• Master's in Nuclear Engineering preferred.
• 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with MathCad, MATLAB, VBA, FATHOM or ARROW.
• Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, ASHRAE, NFP or API standards.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal-hydraulic and piping design for plants.
• Size pumps, valves, tanks, heat exchangers, HVAC for designs.
• Identify issues and propose practical solutions.
• Support engineering staff across design tasks.

About The Role

As a Fluid Systems Engineer I you will report to the ANAV Supervisor Engineer and be located at the Vila-seca, Tarragona offices. This is a full-time hybrid position with a mix of 70% on-site and 30% remote days that may be set at your discretion.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal-hydraulic and piping networks engineering design
• Develop pump, valve, tank, heat exchanger, HVAC, or other equipment sizing requirements for plant design or modifications
• Identify technical issues and propose practical solutions for assigned projects and tasks.
• Support engineering staff in multiple design and analysis activities.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, including I&C, electrical, civil/structural, licensing, and layout, across diverse projects and design changes.
• Communicate progress, technical challenges, and result to the technical lead and project management.
• Collaborate with construction, I&C, electrical, and operations teams, representing the discipline both internally and externally.
• Participate in customer, vendor, and regulatory meetings, presenting technical material and explaining design decisions.
• Complete work within defined scope, budget, and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear).
• We value a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering.
• 1+ years of experience in similar role
• Proficiency with MathCad, MATLAB, VBA, FATHOM or ARROW
• Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, ASHRAE, NFP or API standards
• Fluent in Spanish and English
• Ability to travel to Westinghouse or customer sites (international travel included)
