A leading energy company is seeking a Principal Fluid Systems Engineer to join their team in Madrid. This full-time hybrid position involves performing complex engineering designs, collaborating across disciplines, and presenting solutions to clients and regulators. Candidates should hold a relevant engineering degree with 10+ years in similar roles, and be fluent in both Spanish and English. Attractive remuneration and a flexible work model are offered.

Formación

• 10+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Willingness to travel to Westinghouse or customer sites (international travel included).
• 10+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency with MathCad, MATLAB, VBA, FATHOM or ARROW.
• Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, ASHRAE, NFP or API standards.
• Fluent in Spanish and English (minimum B2).
• Ability to travel internationally.

Responsabilidades

• Perform thermal-hydraulic and piping networks engineering design.
• Develop pump, valve, tank, heat exchanger, HVAC sizing requirements.
• Identify technical issues and propose practical solutions.
• Support engineering staff in multiple design and analysis activities.
• Coordinate with other disciplines across diverse projects.
• Communicate progress and technical challenges.
• Collaborate with construction, I&C, electrical, and operations teams.
• Participate in customer and regulatory meetings.
• Complete work within defined scope, budget, and schedule constraints.

About The Role

As a Principal Fluid Systems Engineer you will report to the Sr Manager Reactor and Safety Systems and be located at our HQ in Madrid. This is a full-time hybrid position.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform thermal-hydraulic and piping networks engineering design
• Develop pump, valve, tank, heat exchanger, HVAC, or other equipment sizing requirements for plant design or modifications
• Identify technical issues and propose practical solutions for assigned projects and tasks.
• Support engineering staff in multiple design and analysis activities.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, including I&C, electrical, civil/structural, licensing, and layout, across diverse projects and design changes.
• Communicate progress, technical challenges, and result to the technical lead and project management.
• Collaborate with construction, I&C, electrical, and operations teams, representing the discipline both internally and externally.
• Participate in customer, vendor, and regulatory meetings, presenting technical material and explaining design decisions.
• Complete work within defined scope, budget, and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear).
• We value a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency with MathCad, MATLAB, VBA, FATHOM or ARROW
• Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, ASHRAE, NFP or API standards
• Fluent in Spanish and English (minimum B2 or equivalent)
• Ability to travel to Westinghouse or customer sites (international travel included)
