Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on, sharp, and business-minded Financial Controller who will play a key role in this transformation for a premium international brand in the sporting goods industry, expanding its footprint internationally and strengthening its financial and operational autonomy. This transition involves setting up new entities, a full ERP migration to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and the implementation of new financial reporting and consolidation processes.
Responsibilities
- Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day SSC accounting and financial controlling operations for the group’s subsidiaries in Spain and the U.S., while actively contributing to ERP migration, process improvement, and financial decision-making.
- It’s a hybrid role between accounting and controlling, ideal for someone who enjoys both the analytical and operational sides of finance and wants to grow within a fast-evolving international structure.
- Oversee and validate accounting entries in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring compliance with Spanish GAAP, IFRS, and U.S. GAAP.
- Lead monthly closings and account reconciliations (AP, AR, GL) for Spain and the U.S. entities.
- Prepare weekly AP/AR reconciliations, debt and aging reports, ensuring financial visibility at all times.
- Support consolidation activities across Spain, U.S., and (future) Canada entities.
- Perform variance and profitability analysis by cost centers, product lines, and markets.
- Provide clear, well-structured financial reporting and insights to the CFO for decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, improving accuracy and visibility.
- Act as key finance contact for cross-functional teams (logistics, operations, purchasing).
- Contribute to the ERP migration and the setup of new financial processes.
- Develop and automate reports and dashboards (Power BI knowledge is a plus).
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting/controlling within industrial or product-based environments (manufacturing, assembly, retail, or distribution).
- Strong command of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (mandatory).
- Advanced Excel skills — able to present data and insights clearly and fast.
- Experience with financial consolidation and multi-entity reporting.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and highly autonomous.
- Strong communication in English (daily use) and Spanish (working level).
- Proactive, solution-driven, and capable of thriving in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
- Comfortable working under pressure and eager to take ownership and grow.
Benefits
- Join a global brand at a pivotal stage of international expansion and independence.
- Work side-by-side with the CFO, with real visibility and decision-making impact.
- Take ownership of a high-impact finance transformation project — ERP migration, new processes, and cross-border consolidation.
- Hybrid work model based in Barcelona (near Glòries):
- Monday to Wednesday: on-site, typically starting between 7:30–8:00 a.m., ~8 hours per day.
- Thursday and Friday: remote, usually from 8:00 a.m. to around 4:00 p.m.
- Competitive fixed salary: €30,000–€40,000 base, with a €3–5k increase after 6 months based on performance.
- No bonus or additional benefits currently in place yet, but real autonomy, learning, and growth opportunities.
Hiring process
- Alejandro Martínez (Headhunter) will review your application.
- If your profile matches, you’ll be invited to a first interview with Alejandro.
- Successful candidates will then meet the Group CFO for the second stage.
- The final step will be a conversation with the Group CEO.
